Most of the best stories ever told began as books. The magic of perusing the shelves and selecting that one special story always stays with me. I hope I am able to create a little bit of that magic for you too. I have always had a love for words. I always dreamed of writing and becoming a published author! I think I really became excited about writing once I started teaching it to my third and fourth graders. I realized during the writing process that children are more sophisticated than we give them credit for and have a boundless imagination. I want to share stories that engage, are authentic, and allow the reader to experience depth and beauty. I explore themes in my picture books that are not typically talked about with children. I write poetry that aspires to inspire, gets the reader to think, and usually has some hidden message or theme. I also write poetry simply to entertain and get a good laugh! I believe in the power of words and appreciate the art that goes into making the craft. Thank you for taking the time to read my work/s. Enjoy!
