Scott Rogers

Scott Rogers is a Bible teacher, missionary, author, and retired hydrologist. His life’s goal has been to spread the fame of Christ among those who don’t know him, and make him more honored and adored among those who do. Raised in a non-Christian home, he embraced the gospel his freshman year at the University of Arizona. As a young believer, he led Bible studies and visited parks and jails to meet people and evangelize. In the late 1970’s he served in a homeless ministry, sharing the gospel with the homeless and helping them in their search for employment. He made several trips to Guatemala to help rebuild after a devastating earthquake in 1976 destroyed thousands of homes and buildings.

By the early 1980’s he was married and was a father of three children. He served as an elder for a number of years in a young, vibrant church. After earning a degree in geosciences from the U of A, he worked as a hydrologist and eventually became specialized in the development of groundwater resources. From 1988 to the late 1990’s, he served an indigenous tribe in a remote area of the Sierra Madre Mountains of Mexico, constructing water wells to provide potable water for small communities that had high rates of waterborne disease. As a nutritionist, his wife worked in a medical clinic helping mothers and their severely malnourished babies and children. They were also extensively involved in evangelism, church planting, Bible teaching, and training indigenous church leaders.

In the 2000’s and 2010’s, while working as a hydrologist for a Native American tribe located in southern Arizona, Scott spent much of his spare time sharing God’s Word through a variety of outlets, and assisting mission organizations in developing water supplies critical to their ministries. Now retired, he ministers mainly through teaching, writing, and serving international students, teaching them English and meeting for Bible study. He lives with his wife Nancy in Tucson, Arizona.
