Ronald Slaton

Ronald Slaton was born in Queens (Far Rockaway), NY in 1962. Early on, creativity set in, displayed in everything from model rockets and airplanes to his first attempts at writing. In later life, dreams of being an independent filmmaker surfaced, but it was a good friend who suggested that he write his "movie ideas" into stories so that they and he could find interested persons to assist. Reluctant at first, viewing it more as a necessary chore, he wrote the twenty-eight story, 520 page collection to be titled That Old Black Magic in less than a year, emerging on the other side with a firm and committed love of writing.

Also being a professional photographer for decades, Ronald still has plans to turn several of his short stories into films, using the highly advanced tools and techniques of the digital age of photo and video we now live in and enjoy. However, now writing is not a stepping stone but fully a part of his creative life.
