Timo Schöber

Dr. Timo Schöber holds a doctorate in economics (summa cum laude from a top-ranked university in the CHE ranking) and a degree in business administration with a focus on human resources, health management and English. He has 38 books, two textbooks, over 70 guest articles on various platforms and in various media as well as more than 15 scientific publications to his name. His books have been published by Meyer & Meyer Verlag, HEEL Verlag, Edel Verlagsgruppe and Flying Kiwi Media, among others. They can be found in the collections of more than 70 universities worldwide. He is the founder of the world's first analog encyclopedia on e-sports, which was published by the largest German-language sports publisher, Meyer & Meyer Verlag.

His work focuses on definitional issues, human resources, personnel management, macro- and microeconomics, western philosophy, reformed theology, e-sports, gaming, gameful design, gamification, change management, politics, poetry and economic theory.

He has teaching experience at universities in Hamburg, Flensburg, Kiel, Stuttgart, Erfurt, Berlin, Frankfurt (Oder), Bad Sooden-Allendorf and Heide. He is also HR Director at the Berlin Institute for Ludology and founder and director of the think tank Esportionary. He also founded the ThinkGameful! think tank. He has advised the German Society for International Cooperation, the German Football League and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, among others. He also co-founded the multi-award-winning start-up lvlup!HR, where he is also a co-shareholder. As an HR manager, he has held management positions in various companies, including large SMEs and corporations.
