William Blaylock

William Blaylock, a Mississippi boy, spent a portion of his childhood in the delta. There he learned first hand that gumbo is not a savory dish to be enjoyed. It is rather, a description of the ground which is so sticky it cannot be removed from your “tennyshoes” without a knife.

His interest in creative writing began at age 3 while scribbling with crayons on the underside of his momma’s kitchen table. A slow starter; he was 57 before putting his talent to work on his debut novel, Foolish Things: A Southern Tale.

That novel was awarded finalist medals in both the religious fiction and regional fiction categories of the Next Generation Indie Book Awards.

Inspiration to write and to “fly right” comes from his Christian Conversion at age 30. He knows what it is to be “lost”, and he knows what it is to be “found”.

His greatest desire is that through his writing others will be found also.
