Rocky O'Rourke

The son of Irish parents, Hugh (Rocky) was brought up on a Luton council estate and moved to Peterborough just before his eleventh birthday where he spent his teenage years living and working in the family pub. He joined the Royal Navy as a 17-year-old, rising from Junior Writer to Petty Officer Writer in a little over five years.

Leaving the Royal Navy in April 1990, Hugh went into business management; he has spent the past 25 years as a multi-site manager having picked up a number of formal qualifications along the way including an MBA master’s degree in business, economics and finance.

Having lived in several different towns and counties since leaving the Royal Navy and now a proud father and grandfather, Hugh is happily settled in Devon where he lives and works.
