"I saw a strange weiner dog, he was sitting in a tree... I looked up and laughed, and he laughed right back at me!"
Hello, readers. I am grateful that you are interested in my books and want to learn a bit more about me and my motivation for writing. First, and foremost, it is my intent to bless parents and grandparents by illuminating their lives with the laughter and smiles of their own precious children and grandchildren. I have dedicated my life to teaching children and I have taught many content areas in elementary and secondary schools...everything from High School Physics to Elementary Reading. I have worked at Texas Tech University, Angelo State University, and Tarleton State University.
I have written many children's stories that amuse young readers (underlying the joy of each story, a life-lesson can be gleaned from each one). There is something so magical about the smile and laughter of a little child. In fact, the joy of children is contagious, and sharing such joy is my primary motivation as a writer. My own grandchildren adore these whimsical tales. The Strange Weiner Dog and Me is a story about the joy of love and the principle of forgiveness. The Strange Weiner Dog: Lost and Found is a story about the rewards of being a good, responsible pet owner. The Strange Weiner Dog Discovers Christmas is a story that explains why this celebrated tradition is important to all of us...not just little boys and weiner dogs.
My wife and I enjoy riding bicycles and spending time with our family, friends, and pets. My prayer is for you to enjoy these stories and be blessed by the smiles and laughter of the special children in your life.
Sincerely,
Dr. B.B. Hightower
