Ahmed Abdelbary

Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering, Pharos University in Alexandria, and Consulting Engineer with over 25 years of experience in research, teaching, and engineering. Expertise spans tribology, polymers, composites, and mechanical systems, with extensive materials science research focused on the tribological behavior of polymers.

The experimental and ANNs outcomes for these studies were published in highly regarded international journals such as Wear, Tribology International, Friction, and Materials and Design. They were also presented at several international conferences, including International Conference on Wear of Materials WOM, World Tribology Congress WTC, Leeds- Lyon symposium on tribology, and International Conference on Applied Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering AMME.

Collaborated with several research groups specializing in multidisciplinary fields such as polymers, composite materials, recycling of west products, and laboratory testing to develop novel composite materials. He led a project focused on developing a reliable nanomaterial technology with high efficiency, large scalable capacity, and optimal mechanical strength. Another project aimed to explore the impact of fiber orientation on the SCF of open-hole unidirectional CFR composites subjected to tensile force using three different methods to consider the stress concentration near the hole: experimental, analytic equation, and finite element modelling. His expertise spans the design and manufacture of various mechanical and tribo-systems.

As an accomplished author, Dr. Abdelbary has published several books, book chapters, and research papers on materials science. He also serves on the editorial boards of numerous international journals and frequently reviews research publications.

During his service in the Egyptian Navy, he collaborated with several research groups specializing in multidisciplinary fields including manufacturing, production engineering, anti-corrosion systems, design of machine parts, mechanical systems, polymers, composite materials, laboratory testing, and others.
