Dr. Phenessa A. Gray is the visionary Founder and Chief Empowerment Officer of EMSight Global, a holistic coaching and consulting boutique firm dedicated to revolutionizing workforce dynamics. With over 25 years of diverse experience across government, higher education, and non-profit sectors, she offers a unique perspective on change leadership, trauma-adaptive librarianship, community outreach, and whole-person program management. Her mission is to empower the workforce to embody strengths, truth, and live purposefully through advocacy, holistic coaching, and trauma-adaptive support, transforming workplace cultures to heal and thrive—one pink elephant at a time.
Holding a Ph.D. in Business Management, an M.S. in Library Services, M.S. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and B.A. in English Literature, Dr. Gray is committed to lifelong learning and intellectual curiosity. Her research interests are deeply rooted in the whole-person theory, trauma-adaptive librarianship, BIPOC library leadership advocacy and support, and her signature model—workplace ABCDE (Authenticity, Belonging, Culture, Dynamics, Equity).
As a published author and content creator, she contributes to the field through insightful publications and best practices. Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Gray finds joy in birdwatching, bowling, cooking, exploring antique malls, and playing the handpan.
