El Davíd is an award-winning NuYorican poet/writer from the Bronx, NY. He is also a music Producer, Director of World Music Band Machete Movement and a visual artist.
He is the author of poetry collections, "GROWING UP RICAN”, “HIP HOP MADE”, THE OUTLAW OF POETRY", "AMERICA’S BRAINCHILD", and “OUTBURSTS OF HORROR", with works published in the anthologies, "ME NO HABLO WITH ACENTO" edited by Emanuel Xavier, "THE BANDANA REPUBLIC" edited by Luis Reyes Rivera and Bruce George, “THE BX FILES” and “INSIDE THE PANIC ROOM”, both edited by El David.
He was awarded "Areito Poet of the Year" by the 2016 Taino Awards in NY. He is a founding member of ELKAT Productions, an entertainment company and ELKAT PRESS, an independent publishing house.
As a curator, El David hosted the “Smokin’ Word Open Mic Series" in the Bronx, NY. He has performed at the Nuyorican Poet's Cafe, Bowery Poetry Club, Bronx Museum for the Arts, Great Weather for Media, El Fogon, Hostos College, La Tea, Capicu Cultural Showcase, Smokin' Word Open Mic Series, El Museo Del Barrio, Julia de Burgos, Queens Theatre, Wings Theatre, Tribes Theatre, Areito Live!, Sunset Park Uncensored, Open Moments NYC, The Pen, The Pad & The Poet, Stevens Institute of Technology and many more.
