David was born and raised in Kerrville, Texas. He is a classically trained actor, having attended the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama in London which he funded by writing and producing plays in Texas. David lived in the UK for a decade. Booth, a one man show written and performed by David, won a Fringe 1st at the Edinburgh Festival and played The Players Club in New York for the centenary of Edwin Booth's death. An ensemble piece about John Wilkes Booth, entitled, Our Brutus, also won a Fringe First Award and was nominated for The Independent Theatre Award. Our Brutus transferred to London and landed David a writing commission from a West End Producer and his first writing agent. He had a book of cartoons published in the UK.
On moving to sunny LA, David’s script based on Glen Miller was short listed for development by American Zoetrope. David joined the sketch comedy troupe, Lester McFwap, which had a TV pilot green-lit and was part of the comedy duo, Dave & Tom, with Tom Konkle for many years. Together Dave and Tom wrote not only silly stuff, but features ranging from comedy to sci-fi.
His passions are varied and he recently discovered a new label for his divergent interests, multipotentialite: as well as being a writer and actor, he is an award winning photographer, videographer, producer, enjoys building furniture and architecture, and has an invention in development. However, his greatest productions are co-productions with his wife – their two sons, Chayim “Kai” and Ryder.
