After his service in the United States Coast Guard, Alan spent a career in law enforcement and was a major crimes detective for Washington’s Grant County Sheriff’s Office before leaving his law enforcement career in November 2002. He has conducted investigations at the local, state, and federal levels and has amassed well over 4000 hours of training related to investigations with specialties in the areas of Interviews and Interrogation; Internal Affairs; Polygraph Examinations; Forensic Computer Examinations; Forensic Document Examinations; and, Human Resources investigations. He has conducted hundreds of criminal investigations throughout his career and well over 1300 personnel and employment-related investigations. Alan was a long-time member of his local school board, is a current member of his city's civil service commission, an alternate committee member on the Hanford Nuclear Advisory Council, representing Grant County, and an active member of his church and community. He also continues to work full-time and owns and operates the small business, Central Washington Polygraph & Investigations, LLC. Alan enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and writing books on topics he is passionate about.
