Dr. Marcus Timothy Mounce

Dr. M. Timothy “Tim” Mounce was born on Halloween in rural Pontotoc County, Mississippi—a fitting start for someone destined to spend his life exploring the mysterious. A longtime educator, he taught and coached across Mississippi public schools before moving to North Carolina, where he rose to associate professor and began writing and podcasting full time.

He is the creator several popular Bigfoot children’s books that have reached Amazon Bestseller status and delighted young readers with their blend of humor, imagination, and STEM-friendly play. He also narrates several books with an unflinching Southern accent on Audible.

Dr. Mounce is also co-host of the People's Choice award-nominated podcast All Things Unexplained, a Top-15 Science & Society podcast that has been featured in Patricia Cornwell’s New York Times Bestselling novel Identity Unknown:

In 2024-2025, Dr. Mounce appeared as contestant #718 on Mr. Beast’s Beast Games (Season 1)—an experience that further fueled his interest in storytelling, adventure, and the extremes of human resilience.

He lives in North Carolina, where he writes, teaches, podcasts, and tries to keep up with his two kids, who test his Bigfoot-level endurance daily.
