Chris Sharpe

I was the recipient of the HAI 2019 Salute to Excellence Safety award for my work within Guatemala promoting safety and standards training as both helicopter Chief Aircrewman and Instructor.

I have over 15,065 flight hours and conducted over 6000 rescues, and I was the former Project Guatemala for the first licensed Advanced Life Support HEMS serice in th ecountry.

In 2017 I formed my own company, Black Wolf Helicopters Special Operations Aviation and Training and authored my first book ‘HEMS Helicopter Essentials – Aircrew Survival Manual’ to accompany a training course aimed at making HEMS medical personnel safer crewmembers.

I write a blog for 'Heavy Lies the Helmet' entitled 'Skids up' based on aircrew surival, and have had a number of my articles published within AirMed & Rescue magazine.
