I was born in La Paz, Bolivia in 1951; my parents, German Jews had fled Nazi Germany and met in La Paz. In 1966 I migrated to Israel where I spent the next years finishing high school, my undergraduate degree at Tel Aviv University (Political Science, Philosophy and Developing Countries Sciences), and military service. In 1975 I came to the University of Chicago to obtain my M.A. and Ph.D.
I taught for 4 years at Hamilton College and Swarthmore. In 1984 I sought to get an MBA (1986) at NYU. From then until 2016 I worked in the financial industry. Most of my working years were in in New York City, but I also spent 10 years between Zurich and London.
I started writing after a difficult divorce in 2001 and the Opaque Blue publication brought to the wider audience a long history of writing, editing, and rewriting that could only be completed once I retired. Happily, the limited audience that has reacted to the book has shown enthusiasm for this effort.
