Michelle Olson

In Michelle Malek Dupont Olson’s first book, Working Wizzles of Wizzletown, the characters take young readers on a fun-filled tour of the town, exploring the many jobs of its inhabitants. “Purpose and happiness come from working hard to create and achieve life goals. My goal is to share with children--through fun, lovable characters--the joy of being a productive member of society, having a job and saving money.”

A lover of Richard Scarry’s classic children’s books, Michelle says this book is a nod to the many jobs of a high-tech world. It was important to her to remove some antiquated male/female roles. “As a young woman I loved arts and math. I often wonder how my life might have been different if STEM education had been presented to me as a child.”

The first of a planned book series, Working Wizzles of Wizzletown is just the beginning of learning and excitement for kids, aged 4-7. Olson, a former jewelry designer, lives in McLean, VA with her husband Chris and three daughters.
