Frankie Stephano grew up in western Pennsylvania and moved to Philadelphia, PA in 1970. She worked as a freelance writer for the local newspapers in Philadelphia and Camden and was best known for her coverage of the Italian mob crime family feuds of the 1980s. She won awards for her coverage of socialite events, and restaurant reviews in the Philadelphia area. Her reports on the Pine Barrens were recognized for their contribution to the UNESCO Biosphere designation for the area in 1983. Currently living in Center City, Frankie considers herself a South Philly girl. Italian Water Ice is her favorite summertime treat for a hot Philadelphia evening. And Whiz Wit is the only way she orders a steak sandwich.
The Last Tango is her latest addition to the Apartment, Society Hill collection of books.
