Tom DeWitt

Tom was born at Ft. Knox in Kentucky, in 1958. He was raised in a military family. After traveling around in his early years the family moved to Winchester, VA where he attended John Handley High School, class of 76. It was during high school that he developed a love of writing. Tom was involved in writing many of the class shows, he participated on the year book and newspaper staffs and made contributions to the creative writing magazines produced by the school. While he loved writing, his career focused on service and after graduating from Longwood College in Farmville, VA, was commissioned in the US Army and entered active service in 1980. These were great years balanced by service to country and raising a family. As the children grew older, he discussed writing and story ideas with them, which is the origin of the ideas for his books. When he retired from the Army, Tom chose the entrepreneur route and co-founded a company, SNVC, in 1998. It is the combination of both careers that provide the backdrop, plot and the characters for Evil Walks Among US and The Nature of Man.
