Lisa Powell-Watts, M.Ed [1958-] has been practicing psychotherapy for over 35 years. She is licensed as a Professional Counselor-Supervisor, Marriage and Family Therapist, and Chemical Dependency Counselor in the state of Texas. In 1999 she met British psychiatrist and Spiritual Healer Dr. Brenda Davies and began training with her, graduating from the International School of Healing and Spiritual Development. Later Ms. Powell-Watts traveled to Berlin, Germany and completed Tutor Training for the school.
It was after training with Dr. Davies that Ms. Powell-Watts began to change the way she practiced psychotherapy- from a 'talk-centered' cognitive approach to a more holistic, spiritual approach. Her work is primarily focused on the chakras and uses a hands-on healing approach with her clients which she's found to be incredibly effective in treating issues of all kinds.
In 2010 Ms. Powell-Watts began training helping professionals and others interested in their own spiritual growth in the Chakra Healing techniques she was taught. Today she conducts a 3 year Healing school and is the director of the Institute for Integrated Healing. She also graduated from Dr. Anodea Judith's Sacred Centers Healing School in the Healer track and integrates many of Dr. Judith's concepts of the chakras into the training as well.
Ms. Powell-Watts was led to write "Chakra Healing- A New Path Forward in Treating Addictions and Other Issues" so that new therapists and others interested in healing will learn a powerful new approach to healing that blends holistic techniques with psychotherapeutic techniques. Her passion lies in teaching others about the importance of the chakras and that a new day is dawning in the field of psychotherapy which is about embodying change, not just talking about it.
