"I'm glad I didn't give up when folks said the odds were against me." ~Teresa Chase
A staunch believer in the saying, "See a need, fill a need," Teresa Chase lends her voice and creativity to ensure that children of color are represented adequately.
A direct reflection of her collective experiences and those who have poured into her, the Tennessee native, uses a unique blend of education and empowerment to create relatable characters through her coloring and activity books for young children.
Loosely based on her niece, god-daughter and three sons, two of which are on the Autism Spectrum, Teresa has created a space for children to discover unyielding possibilities rather than perceived limitations. With the release of her first activity book, The Mighty Squad: Careers A-Z in late 2019, Teresa ditched the traditional, gender-specific roles we often adopt to create a judgment-free environment that promotes self-worth, while championing intellect and celebrating beauty.
Since her first release, the Meredith College graduate has authored four additional titles: El Escuadrón Poderoso: Explorando Carreras, The Mighty Squad: Feelings A-Z, Ava's Math & Fun Book and most recently, Dad Time.
Teresa is quickly becoming a bold and impactful advocate for all underrepresented children of color, as she simultaneously nurtures the well-being of her own family. When she isn't coming up with innovative new ways to conquer the world, the ambitious mom of three and her husband, Jermaine are capturing each of life's fleeting moments through photos, videos, books and lessons.
