Like you, I’m a giver, a lover of life. A mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend. I walk the path of the giving woman—making shifts, taking turns, falling down, rising up—learning and sharing as I go.

I’ve spent much of my life believing I was not destined for wonderfulness—that there was more merit in sacrifice than there was in receiving. My role was to make sure bad things didn’t happen to the people I loved. And I never really felt I was succeeding at it, so I would load up more worry and more urgency to be sure I stayed on track in my mission.

This was how I drew my energy for life. It felt really important, so it kept me motivated. But it was exhausting, and deep in my heart I felt resentful because I had lost myself in the process. I didn’t know the truth that my one and only role here is to express myself as Me, and that everyone would benefit most profoundly when I did.
