Monique Henry-Powell is a native of New Jersey and has lived in Florida since 2003. She and her husband, Jeremi, and daughter, Janiyah, currently reside in Tampa, FL. Her parents, Claudia and Denton Henry, are from the island of Jamaica, and Monique loves to spend time with her family, to include her older brother, Michael.
Monique is a woman of faith who discovered her passion for writing while in the 2nd grade. She adores children, loves to travel and enjoys reading, creative writing, and playing basketball. Monique graduated from the University of South Florida with a BS in Speech Pathology. Her first published children's book, Zola and Her Amazing Day, is a beautiful reflection of Monique's love for affirming children. Watch out for more of Monique as she continues the Zola series!
