David Moore

David Moore, PhD, is a Distinguished Professor of Psychology at the University of Puget Sound. Dr. Moore has authored multiple publications in the areas of teen parenting, adolescent and adult development, and romantic relationships. In addition to teaching and conducting research, Dr. Moore maintains a private clinical practice specializing in psychotherapy with individuals as well as both married and unmarried couples. In his clinical practice, Dr. Moore draws from several therapy approaches, including mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and interpersonal-based theory and interventions.

David was born in Colorado and was raised in Ohio. Drawn to the mountains, he settled in the Pacific Northwest after finishing college and completing his doctoral degree in clinical psychology. When not writing, teaching, or doing therapy, he enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and spending time with his family. He is a father of two adolescent boys.
