Carol Carlson writes from the heart, telling stories that emerge from her life, guiding us through challenges and adventures she encountered over the years. Her first published book, Life as a Police Mom, grew from her oldest son’s career. Since 2015, when Carol founded a group for mothers of police officers, she has been helping her Thin Blue Line sisters understand and navigate the worries, fears, potential heartache, and great pride that come with the role. Carol’s second published book was actually the first written, just weeks after her youngest son died from leukemia. David Died Last Night is a book for parents to read to their child, sharing the real life conversation with David's preschool class as the young students were told of his death. The responses to their questions about death and what follows offer clear language fitting a child’s literal way of processing information, told with tenderness and sensitivity. Carol currently resides in her hometown of Memphis, TN.
