Creativity can be an unruly child. To wit, I've been a weaver, silversmith, ad copywriter, magazine and newspaper writer, studio potter, video effects designer, graphic artist, and novelist. My mother thought I was fickle, but a friend one day described me as being eclectic, and I've clung to the description ever since as being a superior excuse.

Years back, I sold two romance novels, written simply to see if I could do it, but it wasn't where my writing heart lived. I've always been a reader of a specific type of fantasy such as "Mythago Wood" by Robert Holdstock or science fiction such as what Sheri S. Tepper wrote. And xenofiction, for sure. I love animals, love imagining what they might say if they could speak and how they'd describe the world around them. That and my love of cats gave birth to "Whispers in the Forest," which calls for me to write a sequel. We'll see what happens.

I live near Albany, the capital of New York State, and in a fairly rural setting filled with birds, rabbits, squirrels, deer, foxes, woodchucks, and definitely lots of mice. Even a mountain lion passed through one day. The most noticeable characteristic about the animals is their honesty, making me sometimes wonder how or when we humans went astray.
