Hey Y’all!

My name is Lisa, and I am a proud Southern Belle having been born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. My childhood is filled with rich memories of growing up in the Deep South! To this day, my Southern heritage is a matter of deep pride. I carry that with me wherever I go.

Back then we played hard, loved life and literally had no idea how hot it was! I would leave my home in the morning and not come back until the first neighborhood mother would call out and tell us it was time for supper! It was a MUCH different time!

I wrote Janice Jean the Swimming Swine eight years ago in a workshop on writing children’s books. The manuscript collected dust on a shelf for all that time until I lost a remarkable amount of weight. That wellness program transformed my life and gave me the confidence and desire to contact a publisher. I cried, I screamed, I jumped for joy, I got a, “Yes”!

JJ was a member of our family for years. My brother and his friends took her EVERYWHERE and the entire community knew her. Believe me, in those days there weren’t that many pet pigs around!

My prayer is that you will come to love my stories of her spunky little spirit and your children benefit from the lessons to be learned. I especially hope that her exploits will entertain and add a bright spot to your child’s heart!
