RL Foster has spent a quarter century in the fine arts. He moved from the advertising agency business to becoming the marketing director of one of Denver’s most successful art galleries. He eventually opened his own gallery, which he operated for 10 years. After 10 years he closed the gallery to concentrate on his art appraising practice, in which he continues to be involved.
Throughout his career, he has worked as a freelance writer contributing many articles to arts related magazines. He has written four books on the arts: To the Artist in Search of a Gallery, Selling Your Own Art , Investing in Art in the Digital Age and Van Gogh’s Show, an historical fiction novel.
He has also written a play, A Short Evening with Toulouse-Lautrec, and the research for the play led to writing Van Gogh’s Show, which includes a scene from the play. He is currently working on a second play, An Evening with Robert Henri.
