Biography

I am a sixth generation native Texan, but at heart a world citizen. I was raised in what is called the Texas Hill Country, and as a boy lived an idyllic outdoor life, roaming the hills and river of the Nueces Canyon, in some respects like a Tom Sawyer. I come from a few generations of ranchers, who made their living from raising herds of sheep and goats for their wool and mohair. My wonderful boyhood and young manhood gave me a lasting appreciation for nature and today my strong sense of natural conservation. I have a strong sense of holistic world community, thoroughly support green energy, permaculture and bringing greater fairness to this world, so we leave the next generations a place they don't blame us for. Although I was raised around guns for hunting, many years ago I abandoned hunting, and opted instead for photography and observing nature and wildlife; and, yes, I am mostly vegetarian. Although I am still a country boy at heart, I have lived my entire adult life in urban locales. I wish I had traveled more, but am mostly content to be a virtual tourist. Years ago I was married to a wonderful jazz singer, and for me, without music, especially music with a strong beat, there is no life. I served as a young United States Air Force officer during the Viet Nam era, but thereafter entered a career in electrical engineering the built environment, from which I retired in 2018. No longer practicing as a professional engineer, I have turned my attention to a latent passion I have carried for many years, writing. So far I have limited my writing to non-fiction, treating topics such as spirituality and race relations, but I hope to delve into fiction in the future. If I can help a few people in their lives by putting pen to paper, I will be fully rewarded. I wish you all well!
