john molyneux

Hi, this is to introduce myself.

My name is John Molyneux and I am a retired applied scientist who has spent most of his life leaning on the frontiers of science having a quiet cup of tea.

I spent many years developing advanced batteries for electric vehicles only to be told that there’s no future in electric vehicles as they would never become viable. I was involved in other stuff from ‘Offshore moorings for oil platforms’ to ‘Star Wars’ (the Reagan variety not the George Lucas one) and along the way I’ve been nearly shipwrecked twice.

I even did a study on battery powered trains for the DOT and was quoted in the Guardian: "I don't think we'll see these trains in my lifetime, but they may eventually come, out of necessity rather than of choice. ’...I think I’m onto a safe bet there.

However, I have always had a love of 'what if?' stories.

I started storytelling thirty years ago when my first daughter was born and carried on the tradition with my second daughter. They'd grown tired of reading the same old bedtime stories and so, naturally, I began to create new ones to keep them entertained. Along the way I branched out into creating other stories but none of them ever made it beyond a dozen or so chapters.

I now have been given the chance to create some completed works.

When not writing, I walk my dogs, go swimming, indulge in an occasional foray into mathematics or electronics and I help out with the village pantomime.
