Roger Moisan

Roger Moisan received a conservatoire education at Trinity College of Music London, where he studied trumpet, Baroque music and conducting. His trumpet professors were Norman Burgess (BBC Symphony Orchestra) Iaan Wilson (Royal Opera House Covent Garden) and John Wilbraham (international soloist and recording artist). Roger Moisan's conducting professors included Bernard Keefe and James Gaddarn.. In 1990, the late Adrian Shepherd MBE, became a lifelong friend and mentor imparting the greatest advice ever to a musical director, "Dear boy, whatever you do, don't get in the way of the music."

Roger Moisan pursued a successful playing career including performances in a number of West End productions such as Les Miserables, Copacabanna, Halbwelt Kutur; appearing at the Edinburgh Festival; Performing with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra; various solo recitals in London and Southampton; guest solo appearances with the acclaimed Corelli Ensemble, founded by the cellist Adrian Shepherd MBE; featuring on a number of BBC recordings including the contemporary opera La Malinche by the composer Paul Barker; performed regularly with members of the London Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor David Angus; performed Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto on BBC television, principal trumpet with the London Contemporary Music Group, Central Band Royal British Legion, Association Band Guards Household Division. Currently, principal trumpet with Bromley Symphony Orchestra in South London.

In 2018, Roger Moisan became a judge for the BASCA (British Academy of Song writers, Composers and Authors) awards which is part of the Ivor Novello Awards.
