Cheryl Rivera Smith Esq.

Cheryl Rivera Smith spent her 30+ year career in real estate and real estate related industries

including the brokerage, purchase, sale, and remodeling of manufactured homes, site-built homes, and other types of properties.

In her career as an attorney, a real estate broker, and an investor she worked with numerous buyers, sellers, investors, park owners, and dealerships in various states in the sale and purchase of manufactured home and RV parks, all types of real estate and investments of both personal and real property.

She found that the unique industry of manufactured homes offered opportunities to the public that the site-built or stick-built homes do not, namely efficiency and affordability. With an undergraduate degree in and a passion for sociology, she is intrigued by the possibilities offered by the manufactured home industry to creatively provide quality housing at an affordable price, its ability to solve some of the problems of the housing shortage, and, in some cases, homelessness.

The density of the manufactured home parks substantially decreases the carbon footprint of single family home living, and the efficiencies of the newer homes and manufactured home parks not only afford the owners a comfortable lifestyle, but with efficient planning, this efficient lifestyle can help to minimize the effects of global warming.

The author permanently resides in Frisco, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, but sometimes resides in a manufactured home in Silicon Valley where a comparable site-built home would sell for over $2,000,000! She holds law licenses in the states of Texas, Georgia, Arizona, and real estate broker licenses in California, Texas, and Virginia. Smith was named Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by the Dallas Bar Association in 1994 and, in her annual contribution of pro bono

assistance to those in need, she is passionate about educating the public about housing solutions and the often overlooked option of manufactured home and other alternatives to home ownership.
