Griffin Phillips Germond

Griffin Phillips Germond is an ice hockey fanatic from Gorham, Maine. He is a proud alumnus of the University of Southern Maine where he studied communication and media studies, with a public relations minor and an honors minor via the thesis track.

His love for ice hockey started in Georgia, where he lived about 30 minutes from the home arena of the now-defunct Atlanta Thrashers. His earliest memories include flipping through 1999-00 Upper Deck MVP hockey cards on the couch with his dad. At the age of five, Griffin learned to skate and has been on the ice ever since. His friends would even say that he would choose a hockey game over a nice dinner with a girl, but he counters with, “A dinner with a nice girl and then a hockey game… let’s talk.”

Griffin is not one to accept obstacles in his way and he credits some of that tenacity to hockey. His family was deeply involved with hockey and the love of the game came to him naturally. He still has the souvenirs to prove it.
