Hello everyone,

I never thought that I would be composing an "Author Page" but here I am, the author of eight children's picture books, one children's chapter book, and two adult non-fiction titles. All of these books were made possible because of Amazon's Create Space, now Kindle Direct Publishing, which provides all of the resources needed to create a book and make it available to the public.

I am a graduate of SUNY, Oneonta, and Bread Loaf School of English, Middlebury College, and am a retired English teacher, technical editor, and fire-service curriculum developer. An active member of my local Audubon chapter, I enjoy birding and am a passionate long-distance bicyclist. At one time, I was also an avid beekeeper, but I gave up that hobby when bicycling and birding took me away for long periods each year.

I blog my birding and bicycling adventures on Blogspot and illustrate them with photos. My first long-distance cycling adventure--a 2000 ride with my daughter Jessica down the west coast from British Columbia to California--was also my first blog. My other cycling, birding, and Earthwatch adventures are listed and accessible in each blog's Complete Profile.

Born and raised on the east coast, I followed my husband Jeffrey, first to Penn State, where he earned his doctorate; then to San Bernardino, California, where I simultaneously taught freshmen comp at three different colleges (have book will travel); and finally to Stillwater, Oklahoma, where we lived for forty-two years before Jeff--professor and department chair of Oklahoma State University's English Department--retired December 2019. In 2020, we moved from Oklahoma to Utah to be closer to our two grown daughters, Jessica and Lucy. Sadly the subjects of my first picture books, our cats, Paddy and Teddy, have died. We now dote on our two rescue cats, Baxter and Bear.
