Jack Simon-Stevens

I'm Jack Simon Stevens.

'The Connection' is about how the start-up of cellular phones in 1985, changed people's lives.

It also reflects upon a crime incident between Britain and Nazi Germany before world war two commenced, that I believe is true and still remains unknown.

A situation occurs with an electronics group analyst and his connection with its staff, as the first cell-phones go live in the UK. Surreal and magical relationships are formed and alongside these, a weird co-incidence opens up a powder keg of past secrets and vengeance that could destroy the nation.

As the first cell-phones go live in Britain, they become the the only chance to save it....

That's a key part of this story.

But there is something additional that I wanted to convey in the book, and that is how people used to communicate face to face. How their words and emotions became sincere, close and tangible. This is of course, an irony given that many of the key characters in the story who communicate in this way, are involved in the start up of cell-phones.

My other attempt was to look into the depth of mystery about how people could have been together in another life, centuries before the period in which the story takes place.

I have been asked if the characters are based on real people. My answer has always been that

this book is a novel. But in my mind sits the words of the 1780 nursery rhyme about magpies : "Seven for a secret never to be told...."

I hope you enjoy, and thank you so much for reading.
