Mary Ann Cherry

With a diverse background in network and syndicated television, I have done research for and produced a number of independent documentaries. Most recently I created an archive for an international social services foundation.

I worked at Paramount Studios for twelve years in almost every department and the final four years I worked in television development for UBU Productions (Family Ties, Bronx Zoo, Duet and many others). We developed one-hour and half-hour original programming.

I wrote a half-hour episode of Big Brother Jake (“True Lou”) for the Family Channel and later participated in the by-invitation-only Wordsmiths Playwriting Workshop at the Los Angeles Theatre Center.

In the 1980s, I contributed to the underground art scene in Los Angeles with creating and producing two video events: “Henry Miller on Video” and “Stripped,” a video and still photo essay.

I have researched and written a number of successful grants from private foundations for various projects, including support for the early research of the Morris Kight biography.
