I studied French and Russian at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, and have translated more than a dozen books from those languages into English. The Russian books I have translated include biographies of the writer Mikhail Bulgakov, the composer Sergei Prokofiev and the former Russian president Boris Yeltsin, the novel 'Good Stalin' and a book called 'Heroes of the 90s' by the journalist Valeria Bashkirova. On the French side, I have translated a book about shifts in today's social classes by Thibault Muzergues (called 'The Great Class Shift' in English) and a genre-defying novel by Pierre Bellanger called 'Legacy' (think 'Black Mirror' meets 'House of Cards'!). I have also translated a book about the greatest guitarists in history and their favourite guitars...not bad given that I'm a drummer, not a guitarist!

I live in Cambridge, in the UK, and my other interests (besides drumming and translation) include acting and basketball.
