David Yen

David Yen is currently a technology business advisor and board member for start-ups . Before retired from Cisco Systems at the end of 2014, Yen was the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cisco’s Data Center Business Group from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, he served as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Fabric and Switching Business Group at Juniper Networks after he completed his 20-year tenure at Sun Microsystems in 2008.

Yen holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University and a doctorate in electrical and computer engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 2016 Yen received the Alumni Award for Distinguished Service from College of Engineering, UIUC. He holds three U.S. patents and authored a book LIFE UNDER THE SUN.
