Kenny Simpson

Kenny Simpson is the head football coach at Southside Charter High School in Arkansas. He has been coaching more than twenty years and has done it at both ends of the record book, including a 0-10 season and a 10-0 season with a lot of the same kids.

He created the Gun T offensive system and the 34 Fit and Swarm defense, two systems built for programs that do not get to pick their roster, and he has written more than forty-five books for coaches on offense, defense and program building.

At Southside he took over a program on a twenty-game losing streak and led it to four straight playoff appearances and multiple conference titles. He was 4A-2 Conference Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2024 and a Hooten's Coach of the Year finalist both years, coached the FCA Texas-Arkansas All-Star Showdown in 2021, and served on the Arkansas All-Star coaching staff in 2023.

He graduated from Harding University in 2003. He and his wife Jamey have three children, Avery, Braden and Bennett. He writes, speaks and runs clinics for coaches around the country.
