Lisa (Thompson) White is a Hoosier by birth but moved to California with her family in 1964 when she was six months old. Her father, a Methodist minister, had been transferred to a church in the Central Valley, which is where Lisa grew up.
Lisa received her B.A. in Liberal Studies from UC Santa Barbara in 1987 (Go Gauchos!) and went on to get a teaching credential at California State University, Stanislaus.
Lisa met Ken White at the same time that she started teaching. Two weeks after meeting, they were engaged and then married four months later! It was definitely kismet. Their 30th anniversary is on December 1st (2020)!
Lisa taught elementary school for eight years and then quit to stay home with her children, Andrew and Maggie, whom she also homeschooled for a couple of years. Both are now in their 20s and are making their own marks on the world.
Lisa has always had an interest in metaphysics, which she thinks of as being the energy beyond what we know of the physical world. She sees life as a melding of science and art, science being the physical part of what we know, and metaphysics being what enlivens the physical. This interest led her to her studies with Donna Eden and Dr. Sue Morter, both exceptional leaders in the field of energy medicine.
Lisa's books are a culmination of her experiences with teaching, energy medicine, and life! The idea for writing about the energy of love came to her in a flash and she turned that inspiration into reality by publishing the first two books of the series within two years -- "love-light" in December of 2019 and now "night sky" in November of 2020! A third book about loss is already written and illustrated and waiting for its time to be born.
(Do you know what a Hoosier is? It's someone from Indiana!)
