David Porter

Having enjoyed a varied and full life of directing a children's theatre company, teaching drama and performing arts in schools in London and East Anglia, being a political agent, a district councillor and serving for ten years as the Member of Parliament for Waveney (1987-97), I am now a writer and exams assessor.

So far, I have self published a novel, Old Men's Dreams (2015), two collections of short stories - Wild Beasts and Plague (2018) and Scoffers Will Come (2019) - and a second novel, Detestable Things (2020). There is now a third anthology out - The Scapegoat Keeper and other short stories (2021). My most recent novel is No Lack of Madmen, published June 2023.

My exam work includes assessing, setting questions and leading teams. For a writer nothing in life is ever wasted - the good, the bad and the ugly.

I am married with four children and nine grandchildren and live in East Anglia in England.
