Peter Monkhouse
Peter is currently co-founder of NewGenP (https://www.newgenp.com) providing consulting and training services to individuals and organizations. In addition, Peter teaches project management and business courses at Ryerson University, University of Toronto, and the University of Calgary.
Peter’s career is built on over 40 years of project and leadership experience. Throughout his career, Peter has actively led projects and project managers in the areas of education, consulting, engineering, information technology, health, and organizational change for multinational organizations.
Through his career, Peter has seen organizations struggle to implement their strategy and deliver sustained value to their customers. This experience has lead to the writing of his first book Gen P: New Generation of Product Owners Who Care about Customers.
Over the past 20 years, Peter has taught over 6,000 students in Project Management in a variety of formats including classroom, online, and intensive formats.
In prior roles, Peter managed portfolios of continuing education certificates with over 4,000 enrollments, co-founded ZOOMtoLearn, and led programs of over 100 professionals and revenues over US$20 million per year implementing organizational change.
Peter has been an active volunteer with PMI for over 20 years and is presently serving on PMI Educational Foundation Board of Directors. Previously he served on the PMI Board of Directors for 6 years and was the Chair of the 2012 PMI Board. Peter is a past president of the PMI Toronto Chapter.
Peter received his BSc (Engineering) from Queen’s University and his MBA from the University of Toronto. He obtained his Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential in 1999, and in May 2008 he graduated from the PMI® Leadership Institute Master Class.
