Kathryn Long

Kathryn Long is a retired missionary living in sunny Florida. She loves to write, fish, spend time with her eight grandkids, and watch Bollywood movies. Her favorite actor is the mega star Shah Rukh Khan. She helped to pen a book of poetry in honor of Mr. Khan's 27 years in the film industry, which is included on her author page.

Kathryn is the sec/treas for the local writer's group to which she belongs, called New Port Richey Writers Group. She organizes author meet and greet events and lately organized a very successful Creative Writing seminar for youth. A new meet and greet event was held on Saturday February 22, 2020. Twenty-six authors were present to showcase, sign and sell their books. Mayor Rob Marlowe, the mayor of New Port Richey also attended the event. The mayor is a huge supporter of local artist talent.

The youth seminar from the summer of 2019 has turned into a monthly youth writing group which Kathryn chairs. It meets the last Saturday of every month at the New Port Richey city Library. This group has a number of talented young writers. They are planning to publish an anthology this coming year. One of the members, a twelve year old girl, published her first book a couple of weeks ago.

Besides her writing career, Kathryn is also married this past thirty-two years to a talented musician/artist who also writes stories. He is working on a collection to be published soon.
