Paul Vecchiet

Born in Trieste, Italy, Paul has lived most of my life around Chicago. After earning a degree in architecture design from the University of Illinois, he joined the Air Force. During one assignment he discovered evidence of a covert program involving the storage of exotic cadavers. Drawing on decades of experience in engineering and the military, and interest in the questions of our existence, Vecchiet writes speculative fiction, grounded in technical reality as it is spiritually expansive. His work is characterized by restraint, speculative discipline, and a commitment to asking difficult questions without offering easy answers. He writes fiction not to resolve controversy, but to clarify what is at stake when institutions—religious or scientific—attempt to control meaning.
