I am a retired academic librarian who has not only read but, purchased, cataloged and shelved more mysteries than I can possibly count.
I am not interested in another all-knowing but emotionally flawed detective solving the impossible crime committed by a criminal mastermind. My books are filled with ordinary people faced with choices and consequences of choices. They are the victims of crime and often, criminals themselves.
All fiction writers, to some extent, write about what they know. I lived in Asia and Australasia for many years. So, my books are set in Hong Kong, Macao, and small islands in the Pacific. I use these settings because they are my home and provide a rich and unusual background to my books
I am writing to entain you; not to change your politics, religion, philosophy, mind. I write to entertain you on a rainy day or during that long layover in an airport. I want you to enjoy the book for the story. If I entertain you I have accomplished my goal.
