Srivani Jade is an engineer by training, singer-songwriter-composer by day, and writer by night. She shares her time between Seattle, WA and Bengaluru, India. In her mind, she lives in both places at once, and everywhere in between. She must sing, she must write, and she must have friends and family despite both. She gets her love of writing from her grandparents - both of whom were published authors of prose and poetry in pre-Independence India.
Srivani was born on the campus of a heavy electricals company in Hyderabad. Here, she grew up, making interesting observations on people from all around the country. Her essays resonate with people who enjoy reading about childhood, or India, or both.
She has twice served as Visiting Artist at the University of Washington. Her academic interests include: Women in music, Oral traditions, and Creativity in all fields.
