About the Author & Artist Karna Peck
Let me introduce my sister, Karna Peck. I remember when she was around 14 and had surgery ending up in the hospital for a while. Someone sparked her interest in drawing and painting during that time. From that very moment, she was without hesitation the most fanatical artist in the world! She drew on everything from napkins, to saw blades to paper mache’.
She attended college and had children one after another all the while expanding her art profession including murals, paintings, and sculptures in every imaginable format. It seemed that, as soon as she learned some new art technique, she hunted around for someone with eager eyes and ears who would listen, learn and copy adding their own unique flavor. Without question, her own four children follow in her footsteps designing web sites, animated animals (on the computer screen) making soap and unique creams, and creating fun hairstyles. Indeed, the creative gene pool has been generous to the Randall Family.
For several years, Karna had an amazing silkscreen company designing and manufacturing tee shirts in Washington, but after some time, she developed carpal tunnel syndrome and was forced to release it to someone else. Many of her designs are still being manufactured in and around Seattle. Karna has written and illustrated many children’s books and a few audio DVD’s of the same working with our nephew, Roy Crowe. He writes and plays music.
My sister has a heart of gold and, at this time (2012) she can be found working as a Homeless Advocate for Mason County. She maintains an art studio as well as participation in local art shows. I recall some of her latest art includes painting on doors. These are on display in Bremerton at an art studio in the middle of the city.
