Michael Keenan

Mike Keenan (1944 - ) is an editor, poet, newspaper and magazine columnist, podcaster, blogger, photographer, public speaker and non-fiction author. Upon retirement from teaching, he wrote newspaper humour columns and a travel column. He has been published in every major Canadian newspaper and has won numerous awards for travel writing and poetry. Mike presented a week-long writing course at The Chautauqua Institution in New York. He was a member of SATW, the Society of American Travel Writers and president of TMAC – Ontario, the Travel Media Association of Canada.

Playing varsity football, Mike was voted to the Canadian Inter-collegiate All-Star Team. Drafted, he tried out with the Calgary Stampeders. Mike’s four successive terms in public office led to organizing the 1984 Niagara Regional Rally for soon-to-be-elected Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.

Married to Diane (52 years), they have two daughters and three grandchildren. They live in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.
