Peter Trutmann

Peter Trutmann is a scientist passionate about contributing to human and environmental well being and understanding connections to ancient and traditional knowledge. He obtained a Doctorate in Biology from La Trobe University, Australia and has been active in research internationally promoting agro-ecological approaches to secure food in Africa, Latin America, Australia, Europe and the USA working with the CGIAR system, Cornell University and the ETH-Zurich as researcher, a leader of programs and a Center. He has written numerous peer reviewed papers, articles, chapters and has edited and written books on biology and history, produced video documentaries and even a music CD. Ten years ago he and like minded friends established an independent organisation to focus attention on key neglected themes in mountains. Understanding the role of fungi today and in the past and traditional food production in providing answers for future wellbeing became a focus.
