Roxana Gillett is an American writer currently residing in Las Cruces, New Mexico with her husband. The White Elephant Kneels is Roxana’s first book inspired by both her travels to Africa and experience working with African and Indian elephants. Overcoming her struggle with Dyslexia, she began writing poems at the age of 8 years old. Roxana finds inspiration in real life experiences and delights in giving them a creative twist. Formerly a wild animal trainer, Roxana spent over 15 years caring for lions, tigers, and elephants. She found these creatures to be ‘magical’. Roxana said, “I wanted the readers to feel the beauty and loving hearts wild animals have, the dignity and respect they deserve when they ‘allow us’ to be part of their lives.” Roxana is currently working on producing a musical, Garage Band, and her next novel.
