Marilyn Louise Steede was born on the island of Bermuda on August 9th, 1950. (Bermuda is shown as a dot in the Atlantic Ocean on the globe). She has not lived anywhere else in the world; although she has traveled extensively to Europe, United States, Canada, the Caribbean, the Mediterrean - by air and by cruise ship. She has never married and does not have any children.
Marilyn's first literary publication is a romance novel "When Your body Gets Weak".
Marilyn Steede enlisted in The Royal Bermuda Regiment as an infantry soldier, and served a tour of duty for 12 years. She attained the prestigious rank of Warrant Officer Class II - a.k.a. Sergeant Major - a rank that prior to her was only awarded to male soldiers. Marilyn Steede is the first female in The Royal Bermuda Regiment to attain this rank.
Annually since 2003, Marilyn Steede gives back to the community of Bermuda by sacrificing one day of her life by walking non-stop for 24 hours (without sleeping) - eating and drinking while still walking- her 24-hour walk is only interrupted by toilet breaks. She endures this feat to raise funds for a different registered charity each year.
She has composed as her guiding principle - "Strive to achieve goals beyond your natural ability; rather than setting goals that equal your proven ability."
